Ilamai Enum - Pagalil Oru Iravu

A couple of weeks back I was thinking that, I haven't posted any songs of my Favorites Ilayaraja's or A.R.Rahman's till this time. So I tried this song of Ilayaraja. It's a romantic song but for me it sounds more like a melody than romance. It is one of the best songs sung by SPB in Ilayaraja's composition.

Nenjukkul Peithidum - Vaaranam Aayiram

My life is influenced by two girls. One is obviously my wife(thats what I should say, otherwise how can i survive?) for whom I have already sung a song. She will be happy that I am saying her "A girl" even after becoming a mom. This song is for the second angel - My two year old daughter Ritha.

This is a beautiful song by Harris Jayaraj and Hariharan combination. I sang this song in a Pongal Gathering conducted by Arkansas Tamil Sangam. I planned to sing this song at the last moment. Since I didn't have much time to hear this song I used to hear it while driving with my daughter. Now it's one of the most favourite songs for her. She started singing this even before I was comfortable with this song. My wife recorded Ritha's voice without her knowledge in her mobile while she was singing and I've also added her version here.

Melliname Melliname

This is one of my and my wife's favourite song. There is an interesting fact behind me singing this song. We have a custom in our marriage called Nalungu. In our nalungu, when people asked my wife to sing a song, she sang a devotional song very nicely. Then when it was my turn, I was very nervous and I could not think of any song. My wife realised that I was little bit tensed and came to rescue me by suggesting me to sing the song "Melliname". This is the very first song I sang for my wife. Really it was a very pleasant and unforgettable moment.

My First Post

Hi, I am MeenachiSundaram working as a software Engineer in State of Arkansas, USA. I always have a passion for music and I developed this interest from my father who is well versed in music. My father has been a great inspiration for me to become an ardent music lover. My long time dream comes true today. May be I should not call this as a dream, it is my goal, my passion, my desire to start an audio blog. But still my long time wish to learn carnatic music, atleast the basics, remains unfulfilled. I think I have passed that age. Thank god that I have a great interest in listening good music atleast.

As a first step in my music journey, I’ve put my voice for the Song "Malare Mounama" from the movie Karna. I sang this song with the great S.Janaki amma. Okay okay.. don't get panic. How can this lay sing with a legend? With the help of Audacity I took janaki amma's voice and mixed it with the karaoke version of the malare song and then recorded my voice. Thanks to Murali for his nice tutorial on Recording using Audacity. Thanks to Anil for the karaoke version of this song.
